Katie is incredible!! We were amazed at her training techniques and how quickly they are working on our Great Pyrenees puppy, especially her leash-training. She also gave us the best tips for working with our adult Golden Retriever. We are so grateful for her expertise. THANK YOU!!

Katie did great work with our fearful and socially awkward dog Biggie. She gave him (and us) the right tools to help overcome his fears and anxieties. He is now a much better socialized and happy dog. We will definitely continue working with her and can only recommend her to our friends and family.

Katie took in a neglected and essentially feral dog and transformed him into the most loving and playful companion one could ask for. Not only that, she taught me techniques and behavior reinforcement I could practice at home with him. Her work is nothing short of amazing, and her continued support of Aries and me even after his adoption has been so essential in his situation.

Katie is amazing and worked with us and our dog Nova, a Belgian Malinois Husky mix. We started one on one training when our dog was about 14 weeks old and continued for a few months and then did a group training. In that short amount of time we were able to teach our dog that she wasn't the boss. Now she is amazing to us and our 2 small children. We still have more anxieties to work on with her but at least we have a puppy that we feel our kids are 100% safe with. I would highly recommend DRC K9!

Katie is AMAZING. She saved me and my German Shepherd. I was losing my mind she was SO much to handle: screaming bloody murder on walks, she pulled me so hard I fell off the curb straight on my behind.. I finally called and after only three sessions this girl walks with slack on the leash and doesn't bark anymore at all. She's only 8 months old!!!

I highly recommend CRT K9 for training new puppies! CRT K9 helped me properly implement the use of a training collar to help remind our cattle dog mix pup Sauce to obey commands when distracted. I contacted CRT K9 because I was stressing out about trips to the dog park with Sauce. I noticed it was becoming more and more difficult for Sauce to obey commands there and I was worried about his safety. We are so happy with the results. Sauce gets compliments on his behavior often now and I was able to confidently let him off the leash to enjoy his freedom on our first camping trip!

I have a dachshund who is super sweet but incredibly stubborn. Katie over passed our expectations in dog training. She is so passionate about her profession and is a really special human being. Every session was really informative and she gave us tons of strategies and advice to work with our dog. We did around 6–7 sessions for our 2.5 year old Labrador mix and every one of them was more than worthy. We are extremely grateful for her and the way she does it with so much love.

Katie is an amazing trainer. I have an eleven month old shepherd mix who can be a handful. We have been training a little over 3 months and let me tell you my pup has learned so much, we both have, if we are being honest. We started off with training twice a month and practicing in between sessions. We are now down to once a month and still going strong. We continue practicing all our corrections and commands especially during our walks. I used to white knuckle the leash in the beginning, now I barely hold it and he doesn’t leave my side. Best decision I made for my pup and myself.

CRT K9 Dog Training has been a transformative experience! Our 6 month old border collie began to have reactive behaviors when in contact with other dogs and was highly reactive near cars. He was quite anxious whenever we walked out the front door. CRT K9 Training knew exactly why he was having behavioral issues and showed us how to begin changing his behaviors with once a week training sessions. To speed up the process we decided to have him participate in a doggie boot camp where he stayed in the care of CRT K9 Training for 1 week. This camp really began to transform him into the well behaved confident dog he has become. CRT K9 Training worked with each member of the family upon his return from camp to reinforce positive behaviors which ultimately helped us establish a strong bond with our puppy. We are very happy to have found CRT K9 Training and highly recommend them for canine behavioral issues.

Katie is AMAZING!!! When we first adopted our dog, Thor, the humane society deemed him an aggressive and reactive dog. They also told us that he would never be a “normal” dog. After our very first session with Katie, we immediately saw improvements in Thor’s behavior. With a handful of sessions, Thor is now a confident and calmer dog!!

I have a Belgian Malinois that had some pretty heavy behavior issues. I contacted Katie at CRT K9, explained my situation, and she explained exactly what was up with my dog. Then she told me what she could do , which was to completely change her behavior; and she came through with everything she said. My dog is more controlled: no more wild barking, lunging at people, she listens and responds to leash commands. I have a totally different dog. Our puppy had severe aggression to the point that people outside of our home could not even look at her or pass her. Katie came in and not only helped her, but also gave us SO much fact-based information on how to help our dog in the day to day. Within just a few months of working with Katie every 2 weeks, our puppy turned into a very trained, confident dog. New people can come to our home, she now LOVES people, and is overall so much more happy/ comfortable. I could never thank CRT K9 enough!!

Before getting training, I had just rescued a 8 month old pup and after being home for a month or so, started seeing him become very reactive towards other dogs and people just walking by. It got so bad that I didn't even want to go outside with him, and when I had to, I got really bad anxiety and would just rush to get back inside. Now after getting help, it's a complete turnaround. I feel confident taking him on his walks, and seeing other dogs and people out and about. Sometimes he still gets a reaction, but now I know how to deal with it and keep working with him on it. Katie is amazing and always was available in case we had questions about what we were working on. Fully recommend going to CRT K9 if you need help with a reactive dog, because she doesn't just do one method for every dog. She really learns your dog's personality and adjusts for how they need to be trained.

I cannot find to right words to fully describe in detail how much y’all mean to me. I would have never found such a kind and loving soul that I have with Steve. Steve is a Doberman/Shepherd that I acquired through CRT K9 and The Heroic Tail. He was trained before I got him, so it was easy to get him settled in to his new life in a warm home. He’s part of the family now.

Katie is an AMAZING dog trainer! We adopted a 3 month old husky puppy and when she was about 6 months old, we knew we needed some outside help. Our pup needed some work with leash manners and we needed some training on how to manage her outbursts of energy. As much as Katie helped train our puppy - if I'm being honest, she really helped train my husband and I as well. She gave us all the tools we needed to be consistent with our training at home in between her sessions which really set us up for success. With each session, Katie kept the focus on what our goals were for the type of dog we wanted in our family - she really gave us a unique/individualized plan and set up small achievable milestones along the way. When we first met Katie, our puppy was tugging on the leash during our walks and would get overly excited seeing other dogs and people - there was no way we could trust her off leash, which was our ultimate goal. After about 6 months of work, we were able to take our puppy to Fiesta Island where she got to be off leash for the first time! We also met up with Katie at a couple of restaurants and it couldn't have gone smoother. There really aren't any words that can adequately convey how thankful we are for CRT K9 - I really cannot recommend Katie enough. From the first moment I met her, it was obvious to see how much she loves animals and how much they love her. She is incredibly patient, kind, and passionate about her work & it was evident in the way she conducts her training sessions and how she makes herself available for questions in between sessions. She is a PHENOMENAL dog trainer and an absolute pleasure to work with!

I found Katie through my neighbor when I had rescued my girl Luna. She was a very timid, shy, anxious girl when I got her so I knew immediately I needed some help. She couldn’t walk on a leash, wasn’t kennel trained, & had some small trust issues. Thanks to Katie & her dedication & time, we were able to work through all of that! I’m so relieved that I can now peacefully walk her with no stress. I no longer have to worry about her temperament around other dogs or people. Katie is amazing! She “tamed” my mother’s hellacious chihuahua and I did not even recognize Rainey when I saw her again. Gone was the snarling little beast, replaced by an attentive and respectful pup. Thank you, Katie!!!

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. I’ve only had three sessions with Katie and saw an immediate change in my dog’s behavior (and mine) after just one session.

 

I have an 18 month old Golden Retriever, who is the sweetest pup, but is overly excited and was hard to handle on the leash when we would see other dogs or people. I am moving to NYC in a few months and knew I needed to figure something out.

 

I was considering doing a two-week board and train, and I had called a few places before getting in contact with Katie. Every place that I talked to had a cookie cutter plan - regardless of dog - and I would have sent him away for two weeks and picked him up at the end.

 

I knew Katie was different from our first conversation. She meets the dog first and builds out a plan specific to them. You are involved in the training, and she didn’t try and just get me to go with the most expensive option. We met for a consultation and started the training right away. We are able to schedule each session based on things I want to work on, i.e. leash walking (she brought her own dog so we could practice with distractions).

 

Katie not only gave me the tools I needed to communicate with my dog, but also trained me on how to communicate with him. There were so many things happening inside the house that I didn’t even realize - it was eye opening to say the least.

 

I can’t recommend her enough.

Update:
I still cannot rave enough about CRTK9 and the team. Katie has been helping us with our new puppy and I was feeling hopeless at times. We are making headway thanks to her and I feel like we make so much progress each day!

 

Katie is the absolute best dog trainer I have ever had or met. She has treated my dog Sylvie and my family with the upmost respect and care while helping us work through dog aggression and reactivity. The booking is easy as well as getting a hold of her when necessary. I am involved in the training and my opinion and experiences matter and are highly considered. She spent ample time with me each session to make sure everything is being carefully looked at and things were adjusted accordingly to meet Sylvie's needs. If I need to, I can reach her by message in between appointments. She works hard with me and makes sure what is reasonable or not before recommending it. She empowered me to further training on my own in between sessions as well. Sylvie is completely dog friendly now and goes to dog parks and the vet issue free. We even have been able to foster a dog and babysit a cat in our home since working with Katie and are about to get a puppy to have with Sylvie. I would cry after trying to walk Sylvie past other dogs or go to the vet because of the struggle and now everyone compliments how amazing she is for a German Shepherd and she is so loved. This is the trainer you need. Whether you need the board and train or you put in the work and have weekly, biweekly, or monthly sessions, she is the trainer to use. You won't regret it ever. She won't recommend unreasonable things, she won't charge just to charge, and you will have drastic life changes for the better.
